How to Keep Creating When No One Gives a Sh*t
Let’s be real. Being a music producer can feel like screaming into the void. You put your heart into your tracks, post them online, and… crickets. No one seems to care.
So how do you keep going when it feels like no one is listening?
I’ve been there. Every artist has. But over time, I’ve found a few key mindsets that have helped me push forward, even when it felt like no one was paying attention.
1. Improve for Yourself – Life is a Single Player Game
This is the biggest shift that changed everything for me. You are the main character in your own story.
If you’re creating music for yourself, you’re already leveling up your own life. Every song you make, every mix you refine, and every skill you build is making you better—whether people notice or not.
At the end of the day, you have to be your own biggest fan. If you wait for others to validate you, you’ll never be satisfied.
2. Help Others – Give Back to the Producer Community
One of the most fulfilling things I’ve done as a producer is helping other artists.
That’s why I create content. That’s why I share my journey. Because I know that the struggles I’ve gone through can help someone else navigate their own path.
When you take the focus off yourself and put it on helping others, you stop worrying about validation. You start creating because you have something valuable to share.
3. Shift Your Perspective – Small Numbers Are Still Big
It’s easy to get discouraged when you only get five likes, five streams, or five plays on your latest track. But think about this:
What if you put five real people in a room?
That’s five people who took time out of their day to listen to your music. Five people who might come back for more. Five people who could become die-hard fans in the future.
When I started, some of my songs only got 100 streams. At first, that felt small. But then I thought, “What if I had 100 people in a room right now listening to my music?”
That’s a lot of people.
If even one person is listening, you’re making an impact. Be grateful for every single person who connects with your art.
4. Make Something You’re Proud Of
Forget outside validation. If you’re proud of what you’ve made, that’s all that matters.
At the end of the day, when you look back on your work, you won’t care about stream counts, likes, or comments. You’ll care about whether or not you created something that felt real to you.
The life you want to live is built one song, one track, and one moment at a time.
So don’t stop.
Final Thoughts
If no one’s listening yet, keep going anyway.
Improve for yourself. Music makes you better.
Help others. Someone out there needs your story.
Change your perspective. Every listener matters.
Make music you’re proud of. That’s what really counts.
This is your journey. Keep creating. Keep growing. Keep making sh*t that matters.
