I Just Attended Thailand’s First AI-Powered Music Festival – Here Are My Takeaways

So I was walking around a mall in Bangkok, Thailand, when I noticed an event happening. I saw a poster that read, Thailand’s First AI-Powered Music Festival, and I thought, wow, that’s interesting—my two favorite things. Not to mention the EDM music involved. Naturally, I had to check it out.

Unfortunately, I arrived a little late, so I missed the talks. I’m not sure I would have understood them anyway since they were probably in Thai, but here’s what I picked up from the festival.

1. AI, Music, and Technology Are All Interconnected, and They’re Not Going Anywhere

Unless a solar flare wipes out all technology infrastructure (sorry to be a doomsdayer), this stuff is here to stay. The relationship between AI, music, and tech is only getting stronger, and we have two choices—adapt and grow with it or resist and fall behind. The festival made it clear that AI is already deeply integrated into the music industry, and it’s only going to evolve further.

2. Bangkok is Seriously On Top of Its Game

I just visited Bangkok for the first time last month, and I was blown away by the infrastructure. This was an AI music festival inside a shopping mall. A festival. Inside a mall. I’ve never seen anything like that before.

The event was backed by some huge sponsors like NVIDIA, Fortinet, CommScope, HP, AMD, Intel, Lenovo, Cisco, and ASUS—just to name a few. They had booths set up showcasing some insane technology, from cutting-edge AI tools to mind-blowing tech demos. It’s wild to see how fast Bangkok is embracing AI and tech innovation. I can only imagine what’s coming next.

3. VR Was Everywhere, and It Gave Me Major “Allegory of the Cave” Vibes

VR was a huge part of this festival, and honestly, every time I experience VR, I get this existential Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” feeling. If you’re not familiar with it, look it up. The basic idea is that we might already be living in some form of VR, and the more advanced this tech gets, the more it feels like we’re inching closer to a reality that’s indistinguishable from a simulation.

At what point will we put on VR goggles and be totally immersed in a world that we can’t distinguish from our own reality? It’s a mind trip, and seeing VR continue to evolve at events like this only fuels that thought. Either way, VR is having its glow-up moment, and I’m here for it.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve got thoughts on AI, VR, music, or technology, I’d love to have a discussion in the comments. Let me know what you think—are we heading toward a new creative golden age, or is this just the beginning of a dystopian future?

Also, I teach artists how to make music with AI tools. If that’s something you’re curious about, schedule a free call with me. Let’s chat.
